Cafco 400® - Vermiculite & Portland Cement Based Wet Mix Spray

INTRODUCTION

CAFCO® 400 is a Portland cement based, spray applied fire resistive material. It is a medium density wet mix product designed to provide fire protection for structural steel in commercial and high rise construction.

The durable surface of the product makes it well suited for application in areas which may be subjected to higher levels of abuse.

UL FIRE RESISTANCE RATINGS

UL is accredited by the Standard Council of Canada (SCC) as a Certification and Testing Organisation to Canadian Standards and codes.

In all cases, please consult the actual design listing for beam sizes, deck profiles, electrification details, roof insulation types and other construction details. This product is listed as Type PC4C.

FIRE PROTECTION THICKNESS

The thickness of the fire protection for a given period of fire resistance in a cellulosic type fire relates to the A/V ratio of the section.

All column and beam sections have their own specific A/V ratio. Please consult Promat to establish the A/V ratio for a particular beam or column section.

For advice on thickness calculations for hollow sections, cellular beams, castellated sections, composite floors, upgrading of concrete slabs and more complex situations, please contact Promat.
